  • Laura Haner

    Laura has charted an exceptional and unique path that has enabled her to achieve key professional and personal goals.

    Earlier in her career, Laura held senior project management, product management, and organizational development roles with MCI WorldCom and Deloitte.

    As her family began to grow, Laura shifted her focus from her corporate roles to raising and successfully homeschooling her five children and serving in her local community.

    In 2022, Laura co-founded Coretech Insight with her husband, Jeff. With this new venture, Laura soon found herself providing ongoing professional services in the insurtech startup space. This role has provided direct experience and invaluable insight into the challenges startups face. Laura is adept at quickly ramping up into new subject areas and wearing multiple hats. She continues to provide a range of client services that span digital marketing, marketing content management, human resources, and operations. In addition, Laura has served on a product advisory council focused on project and work management SaaS tools since 2021.

  • Jeff Haner

    Jeff often quips that, at his core, he’s “just a geeky kid who grew up near Kalamazoo, MI.”

    Throughout his career, Jeff has worked at the intersection of technology and business — understanding enough about both worlds to help bring them together.

    He’s been blessed with opportunities to serve in leadership and advisory positions with Deloitte, Pacesetter Consulting, and Oliver Wyman.

    Jeff began working within P&C insurance in 2005, where he served as:

    • Business Relationship Leader, NJM Insurance Group — led IT projects and cross-functional teams across NJM.

    • Sr Director, Analyst, Gartner — authored Magic Quadrants for P&C core systems and platforms, and covered tech such as drones, blockchain, and the IoT.

    • VP of Marketing, BriteCore — wore multiple hats, including sales, marketing/product marketing, content management, public speaking, and analyst relations.

    Insurance core technologies can be weird, wild, and frustrating. Serving as a customer, an analyst, and a vendor has given Jeff a unique and valuable perspective on this space.

    Steve is an experienced professional with a strong background in the financial services industry, where he has dedicated nearly 30 years to developing innovative strategies that enhance business value through the effective utilization of technology. His expertise lies primarily within the insurance sector, particularly in life insurance underwriting and distribution. However, he also possesses knowledge across various industries, including commercial and retail banking.

    Throughout his career with renowned companies such as Zurich Insurance, Gartner, Microsoft, Steve has provided invaluable guidance and insights to insurers. His authorship of multiple Gartner Magic Quadrant reports for the life insurance industry has given him a unique perspective on the industry. At Microsoft, he focused on creating solutions that enable Fortune 1,000 organizations to capitalize on emerging trends and technological advancements. These solutions delivered enhanced value to customers while simultaneously reducing costs.

    As a seasoned business strategist, Steve possesses a keen insight into emerging trends and technologies, making him a valuable asset in helping companies achieve success in their respective industries.
